Every garden needs an oriental poppy somewhere in it, and this is one of the best. The usual clump of hairy divided leaves and, in mid-summer, sturdy stems with huge crinkly-petalled flowerheads in salmon pink shading to cerise at the centre. Just magnificent. Sun or semi-shade. Fertile well drained soil. 2 feet. 2 litre pot.

Cutting back the foliage after first flowering will tidy up the plant and encourage new growth.
