This elegant plant is very different to the more commonly seen types of Dicentra. King of Hearts is a compact specimen, forming a mound of blue-green finely-divided foliage with arching stems bearing delightful dangling heart shaped deep rose-red flowers over a very long season from spring to autumn. Sun or semi-shade. Moist soil. 12 in.

King of Hearts is a hybrid cultivar resulting from a cross of the Japanese species Dicentra peregrina with two American species D. formosa subsp. oregana and D. eximia.
