We like agastaches for their highly aromatic leaves and long flowering period. Red Fortune is a bushy upright plant with spikes of deep reddish pink flowers from midsummer through to the frosts. Best in full sun. Any well drained soil. Relatively compact at 2 feet. 1 litre pot.

Agastaches are used to dry conditions in their various native habitats so are ideal for planting in those sometimes difficult spots with not much in the way of irrigation. This also means that they need good drainage in winter, so they shouldn't be planted where the soil is likely to be wet or waterlogged in the colder months.
Easy to look after: cut back close to the ground in winter.
