Lots of silver going on here. The reddish tinged leaves have an metallic silvery finish to them and provide a suitable foil to the silver pink elongated bell shaped flowers with lighter striping. A compact habit and a long flowering season from mid to late summer make Campanula Silver Bells a real little star in the garden. Ding dong indeed. Sun or semi-shade. Any reasonable soil. 15 in. 2 litre pot.

The trouble with some older varieties, beautiful as they are, is their all too brief flowering season. Not so with this beauty. All good in our book.
A newish introduction and a variant on Campanula Punctata, a native of Japan, where it grows in meadows and dry wasteland from lowland areas up to the lower slopes of more mountainous areas.
Plant care is straightforward. Get out the seccateurs to remove old flowering stems and cut back in winter, and that's it.
