A fairly new and definitely rather special delphinium which doesn't get too tall and won't tend to flop, Highlander Crystal Delight has the usual elegant spires of flower in mid-summer, but the flowers themselves are frilly doubles in lilac blue around apple green centres. Full sun. Any reasonable soil. 36 in. 2 litre pot.

Slugs and snails can sometimes be a problem when growing delphiniums, so you may want to take preventive measures, such as sprinkling a bit of gritty sand around your plants, especially when they are just coming into leaf in the spring.
