AVAILABLE 2019. Now there are lots of miscanthus out there with attractive horizontal banding to the blades, but many of them get seriously big. Gold Bar is of more manageable proportions, with the bands in the colouration the name suggests. Coppery red flowering plumes in the late season mature to creamy beige. Sun or semi-shade. Any well drained soil. 48 in. 2 litre pot.

The variety Gold Bar is a sport of the well known Miscanthus Sinensis Strictus and is an improvement on it in that it is more compact in its habit and displays better and more dense banding on the foliage.

Care of the grass Miscanthus Gold Bar is easy, as all it needs is chopping back in early or late winter. The latter is probably best as that way you get some structural effect in the otherwise barren days of winter.

Miscanthus Gold Bar is a hardy upright grass with horizontal creamy gold bands on the foliage and coppery beige flowerheads suitable for full sun.
