HEMEROCALLIS DESTINED TO SEE

HEMEROCALLIS DESTINED TO SEE

5.50

The flowers of Hemerocallis Destined to See are of a rather individualistic shape with broad petals that flare backwards as they open. The colouration is very striking, too, as Destined to See has large creamy yellow flowers with lavender centres and petal fringes and a yellowy green throat. Full sun. Any reasonable soil. 24 in. 3 litre pot.

Very nice indeed and evergreen, to boot. But destined to see what, that’s what we would like to know. We suppose that the number of varieties of hemerocallis is just so staggeringly enormous that it becomes quite a tricky test of the imagination to come up with names for new ones.

Destined to See is a tetraploid hemerocallis, evergreen and with some fragrance to the large flowers, developed as a seedling cross from H. Create Your Dream and registered in 1998 by the daylily hybridiser Larry Grace of Graceland Gardens, whose website you can visit here. And yes, it’s got nothing to do with where Elvis used to live. Completely the wrong state, for a start.

Easy to care for - just remove any old flowers as they go over and remove old foliage in early winter or spring.

Hemerocallis Destined to See is a hardy perennial plant with strappy leaves and creamy yellow flowers with a lavender centre in summer suitable for sun.
