AVAILABLE 2020. Inula Orientalis Grandiflora is an old favourite of ours and a great plant for the summer border, with serrated leaves and spectacular hairy buds that somehow remind us of teddy bears [why?] and open into lovely orangey-yellow flowers like huge daisies. One plant forms quite a clump by itself. Sunny spot. Any reasonable soil. 2 feet. 2 litre pot.

Inula Orientalis made the top ten of most searched-for plants on our website in 2014. Not bad for such a classic plant with no great novelty value.

The genus Inula comprises some hundred species with habitats ranging from Europe to Asia and Africa. The name Inula Orientalis indicates that this one hails from somewhere in the east, in this instance the Caucasus, and the Grandiflora bit refers, of course, the fact that it sports nice big flowers. They are not just generous in terms of size, but also in their willingness to keep on flowering over a long period during the summer months. What more could we ask of them?

Inula Orientalis Grandiflora is a hardy perennial with serrated leaves and large orange yellow daisy like flowers from hairy buds in summer suitable for sun.
