A great specimen plant to bring a bit of a glow to a shady corner, the leaves of Aralia Sun King emerge lemon yellow on contrasting red stems and will stay that colour, given a bit of sunlight at some point in the day. Small white flowers in mid to late summer. Best with some shade. Any reasonable soil. 3 ft. 2 litre pot.

Aralia hails from Japan, with a common name of Japanese Spikenard, which sounds bold and striking, which, of course, it is. Also apparently known as mountain asparagus, which sounds like fun.
