The thing of childhood holidays by the seaside, but with a colourful twist. The foliage is darker in the colder months and a greenish bronze when things are a bit warmer.

If you want low maintenance, this one ticks the box. Let it get on with life in its own carefree fashion.

Sometimes known as In The Red which is pretty much English for, well, Rubrifolia.

Armeria Maritima is self-evidently a suitable plant for coastal gardens but will do well just about anywhere. We find that it will continue to bloom off and on virtually indefinitely, though its peak show is spring into summer.
