Crocosmias benefit from being divided every couple of years or so, as they can become over-crowded and so flower less prolifically.

This variety goes back a few years: it was discovered in 1951 by one Emily Mckenzie in her garden in the northeast of England. Originally it was thought to be a natural sport of the older hybrid Comet, but it may in fact be an inter-species cross.

Crocosmia Emily McKenzie is a hardy cormous perennial with lance-shaped leaves and orange and mahogany flowers in late summer suitable for sun or semi-shade.
