DICENTRA (LAMPROCAPNOS) SPECTABILIS ALBA

DICENTRA (LAMPROCAPNOS) SPECTABILIS ALBA

5.50

AVAILABLE SPRING 2019. Dicentra (Lamprocapnos) Spectabilis Alba forms a mound of fern-like deeply-divided foliage from which, in spring and early summer, emerge gracefully arching stems hung with heart-shaped flowers of pure glistening white. Perhaps even nicer than the classic bleeding heart? Sun or semi-shade. Moist soil. To 2 feet. 2 litre pot.

ADD TO BASKET

By mid or late summer the plant will tend to die back. You can cut back spent stems then if they look untidy. In shadier positions and with soil that doesn’t dry out, it may remain in leaf right through to the autumn.

Another plant that has had its name changed - it's now Lamprocapnos rather than Dicentra, but we are still a bit behind the times.

Some nice close ups of a bee enjoying the flowers of Dicentra Spectabilis Alba in this short video:

Dicentra syn Lamprocapnos Spectabilis Alba is a hardy perennial with hanging white heart shaped flowers in spring and summer suitable for sun or semi-shade.
