Mauve is a distinctive shade for a bottlebrush, and offers scope for a rather lovely name too. With Callistemon Mauve Mist you can expect the usual arching stems and willowy evergreen leaves, with those distinctively coloured flowers (lilac pink is a good description of them) appearing in spring into summer. Sunny sheltered spot. Any reasonable soil. To 6 feet or more. 2 litre pot.

Pruning is best done immediately after flowering. Easy to keep to keep to your preferred height by doing this.

Callistemon Mauve Mist Will take down to -5C or so. If it's awfully cold, wrap it up in some cosy fleece.
