COLLECTION OR LOCAL DELIVERY ONLY DUE TO SIZE. If you like sweet black cherries, you will like Sunburst, which produces a heavy crop of large very dark fruits in July or August (depending on the seasonal weather!), which won't last long in the fruit bowl, as they are so delicious. Self-fertile. Sun or semi-shade. Any reasonable soil. To 12 feet (less if pruned). 5 litre pot.
Being self-fertile, you can grown Sunburst as an individual tree, though having another pollinating tree may encourage heavier cropping.
Grafted on Colt dwarfing rootstock, so you can manage the height of your tree to be anything between 6 and 12 feet.
This short video proves that you can harvest cherries even from a young tree, and one grown in a container, at that.
Cherry Sunburst is a sweet dessert cherry tree producing a heavy crop of dark, almost black fruits in mid summer grafted on Colt dwarfing rootstock.
